Anna and Freddie Cardenas: pottery and paintings
Anna, a native of Galisteo, started studying pottery ten years ago with artist Don White and drove three hours while living in Springer to take a class in Santa Fe with Felipe Ortega back in 1999. She is excited about working with famous Jemez Potters Maxine and Mia Toya this winter. Anna shows her pots at the Galisteo Visitor’s Center and many private collections.
Freddie started painting several years ago after retiring from the New Mexico Public Schools as Superintendant. He currently works with the BIE and drives to Jemez everyday as Principal. Freddie paints landscapes from around the Galisteo Basin and other New Mexico village. He paints in oil and acrylic medums. He enjoys using bright colors, sunflowers, clouds and whimsical characters in most of his paintings.
Adan, our son has taken glass casting and welding classes at SFCC. He adds a new dimension of work to the family gallery. He also enjoys making clay pots and photography.
